The goal of Zen music, as a form of therapeutic music, is to assist the listener in clear his mind, refocusing their attention on the present moment and ushering in an atmosphere of serenity and peace. It gets its name from a school of Buddhism practised in Japan that places an emphasis on meditating and following one’s gut instincts.

The practice of bringing your thoughts consciously back to the present moment is what we mean when we talk about meditation.
